I can't believe that only a week has gone by! I'm glad that we still get to stay for another TWO weeks! It has been a great week. The hustle and bustle of camp meeting and Senior Camp (a teen camp) is keeping things busy. Although, as the week comes to an end the energy level is quickly dropping!
The kids are enjoying all kinds of time to play with friends. I hardly see them during the day. They love getting their meals on their own in the dining hall and are usually finished eating before I even get through the line. Snack shack and pool time are their favorites times of the day.
I am enjoying lots of time to relax and visit with friends. The weather has been amazing which has allowed for lots of time in the sun just enjoying each others company. We spend a few hours a day in the pool. I am also enjoying playing the drums each night for the evening service. It's been fun to get to know a 'new' band.
The week has not lacked excitement. The kids are wiped out at the end of the day. We are happy to report that Luke AND Ethan are both proud 'deep end' swimmers! This is a major accomplishment for Ethan especially. Owen is actually quite a good swimmer and can swim half the width of the pool under water...but is working on staying afloat while taking breaths so he can make it farther. It won't be long for him as fear is not an issue. They were able to attend VBS here at camp each morning as well.
It's been a smooth week minus a few bumps and bruises.
We have quickly made our cottage our home away from home.
Jessalyn in the pool
Ethan jumping in the deep end.
Luke diving in
Pretty girl
Typical Luke. He prefers a front flip into the water..but mom's a wimp:)
Jessalyn working on diving
Tru loves the water too!
Sweet Owen
Jessalyn and I...and Truett
Cottage Sweet Cottage
Love the view from our deck
Lots of boys in the pool
Luke and Andrew singing from the hymnal
I'm still managing INSANITY on 'most' mornings:) ...usually followed by french toast or something for breakfast!
Love my Tru
Owen chillin...with his skittles
Truett got a booboo on his nose...from falling one step onto the porch. Poor guy. It's looking much better already though!
This is in addition to Luke getting a major nose bleed from smacking it on someones head during blindfolded tag in VBS....and Ethan getting a softball to the head (from a throw) during the softball game.
A trip to the laundry mat and baths in the sink were necessary to end week 1!
Looking forward to next week!
