Happy Birthday to my Meeper!

Today, my sweet little boy Ethan turns SEVEN! I can hardly believe that my kids are getting so old. We started his celebration today the same way we start every birthday morning...with breakfast in bed. Ethan brought some snacks to share at school today (and yes, I stopped at Hannaford on the way to pick them up because I am so not organized enough to have made something homemade!)....then, I will be picking him and a few of his friends up from school and they will come home play here for a while, have some cake and eat pizza...then we are going to join with the Friends group and Youth Group for a skating party! It just so happened that this was planned on the day of his birthday so it works out well for me!

Mr. Ethan is doing well. He is surprising us all at school. He is already in the reading level he's supposed to be at by the end of the year, he got all "m"s (mastered) on his assessment and he got a 97% on his math assessment. Also, he is working through the 2nd grade spelling list already! He loves being able to read and particularly loves the "Cam Jansen" series.

He, of course, still LOVES video games (not sure where he gets that!)...and can contend with 'the best of 'em' on any game.

Poor Ethan has still not lost a single tooth! He is 7 years old and nothing is even starting to wiggle! I'm starting to think that Luke will lose a tooth before him. I am just envisioning Ethan being the only kid without teeth...while the rest of his friends have already gotten their permanent teeth. I suppose there is hope that when it happens they will just all fall out and grow back in very quickly! He is getting anxious about it I think.

Overall Ethan is a real sweet boy. He is quiet and cautious when he first meets someone, but if you give him time you find that he is a crazy, silly boy who will do anything for a laugh.

I will be sure to take lots of pics at his party today, but until then here is one from his breakfast in bed.

As you can see...there is some texture in this photo. The reason for this is because I finally purchased photoshop cs4!!!! You have no idea how excited I am about this! (or maybe you do?!) I have been holding out, knowing that I wanted this particular program. I have spent the last few weeks saving up the money I make babysitting Elijah AND my mom decided (out of the blue) to kick in a chunk of cash to my cause. There is SO much to learn and the picture above is my first attempt at any texturing. I can't wait until a year from now..when I have learned much more and I look back at this picture and hate it! For now...as my first attempt...I kinda like it:)

I have been spending the last few days trying hard not to spend all day messing and learning about photoshop..it has been a struggle (and if you walked in my house today this would be clear to you..ha!). ...the options and creative capabilities are ENDLESS :)
